This program focuses on researching and monitoring coral reefs and their associated ecosystems to inform management decisions in the marine protected area. This program is linked to the Forest Conservation Institute, the Municipality of Tela, the Tela Marine Research Center, the Coral Reef Alliance, Healthy Reefs, academia, CIAT, and other institutions.

Objetives:

• Establish research and biological monitoring priorities within the marine protected area.

• Promote research in the marine area through agreements with academic institutions and other partners.
