AMATELA is a non-governmental, apolitical, non-profit development organization, legally established under statute No. 800-2017 on July 12, 2017. AMATELA was founded to conserve coastal marine resources and contribute to the humanitarian and comprehensive development of the communities near the Tela Coral Reef System in the Department of Atlántida.

Our Purpose
The central purpose of AMATELA is to ensure that the marine-coastal ecosystems of the RVSMBT are managed sustainably as a foundation for the well-being, local economy, and quality of life of the communities that depend on them.

Protection and Surveillance Program
This program is dedicated to protecting the marine protected area and preserving the biodiversity of Tela Bay.
